Living in a city like Houston while not owning a car means I spend a lot of time waiting at bus stops.
But as anyone who has to figure out a bus schedule and transfers, waiting takes some preparation.
The waiting of advent is not passive waiting. It's engaged and active preparation. "Hurry up and wait," perhaps, but if you just show up at a bus stop without checking bus frequency and such, you may find yourself not only waiting, but late.
